Trip to Stamford

Stamford is Lincolnshire's little gem of a town and on Monday, Connor and I took a trip up there to do some exploring. This beautiful little town is home to a couple of stunning hotels, one of which we stayed in on Monday night, The William Cecil. The high street is lined with boutique shops as well as bigger, well known shops such as The White Company, Joules, Marks & Spencers and Fat Face.

We arrived in Stamford midday on Monday, weary eyed yet fueled from a cheeky mcdonald's breakfast we stopped for en route...shhh! After walking the length and breadth of the high street, with shopping bags in our hands, we stopped off for a much needed cup of tea to warm ourselves up from the icy coldness of the town.

This was the second time I had stayed at The William Cecil and it was just as fabulous as it was on my last visit. Connor and I were lucky as we received a free room upgrade which meant we stayed in 'chic room'. Beautifully decorated and so spacious, we fell in love with our room and especially the super king sized bed which dominated the room. With a kettle and an abundance of tea bags in the room, both of us were extremely happy. Tea in bed? Er yaah?!

Once we had checked in, we wondered down to the lounge and indulged in rich hot chocolate, cookies and sandwiches to refuel before more exploring and shopping. The lounge was festively decorated with a beautiful big christmas tree standing proud next to the open fire place.

In the evening, Connor and I got ready to head out for dinner at the Cosy Club, located right in the centre of the town. Now, getting a bit personal, we got to the restaurant and roughly 20 minutes in, my body and mind thought it was be great to have a panic attack in the middle of the room. Perfect timing Freja, well done. Anyway, after Connor had managed to calm me down and many tears later, we made our way back to the hotel and, instead of buttermilk chicken and chocolate brownies, we had room service in much better..!

Day 2

After waking up on a crisp tuesday morning, Connor and I made our way downstairs to dig into some breakfast before packing up the car and saying goodbye to our new favourite town. I will be making a return visit to Stamford next year, possibly in november, hopefully in time to catch the towns annual Christmas market!
